We Accept Donations of Used Clothes & Household Items in Columbus, Lancaster, Dayton & Communities throughout Central Ohio
At National Kidney Services (NKS), we’re proud to accept donations of used clothing and household items from residents of Columbus, Lancaster, Dayton, and the surrounding communities. These items help us to generate proceeds that go directly to the National Kidney Foundation (NKF), a nonprofit health organization that establishes programs for kidney disease prevention, organ donation education, and more.
We want you to know that when we accept your donations, we have the greater good in mind. Whether you contribute a used television, a bag of kids’ clothes your children have outgrown, or a box of books you’ve already read, we envision the role that these charitable contributions can play in the fight against chronic kidney disease. Below are just a few of the ways that the programs we support through NKF have helped advance our mission:
- A campaign to promote organ donation, called “END THE WAIT!” shows people how important it is to become organ donors.
- Through Congressional and state legislatures, NKF advocates on behalf of transplant recipients, kidney patients, and living donors.
- More than 79 cents of every dollar donated to NKF goes directly to supporting its programs and services.
- NKF enhances public awareness about the benefits of early detection through the “Love Your Kidneys” newsletter campaign.
- Over the past 40 years, NKF has awarded more than $80 million in grants to kidney disease research projects.
NKS offers complimentary donation pickup service to our donors throughout Columbus, Springfield, Washington Court House, and the surrounding areas. Call 614-351-2900 or sign up online and we will contact you when collections are being scheduled in your neighborhood. If you prefer to drop off your used items, Ohio Thrift stores throughout Central Ohio accept donations on our behalf.
